Session overview:

These FREE sessions are intended to give you insight into the SanBaoWay Mindful Movement training and our approach.

This training is open to all levels – whether you are a beginner in Mindful Movement and QiGong or simply want to enhance and develop your training further.

Training sessions are 1hr long – delivered LIVE and ONLINE and FREE via Zoom – and will cover the following:

  • opening meditation to prepare for training
  • warm-up exercises
  • stretching and extension exercises for flexibility
  • dynamic conditioning for strength and stamina
  • QiGong form and mindful movement
  • closing mindful meditation
  • tips and advice on simple Oriental health and well-being practices (including acupressure points)

What you need to know:

SanBaoWay Mindful Movement uniquely combines the most effective and practical techniques drawn from my 30+ years training; study; research and practice across oriental health and well-being; martial arts; QiGong; TaiChi; physical conditioning and meditation.

I integrate stretching and extension exercise to open the body and increase our flexibility. Dynamic Conditioning provides a physical work-out and builds our strength and endurance. I include Qigong form practice – encompassing a wide range of exercises and techniques, including gentle movements, flowing sequences, standing postures, breathing exercises, and mental focus (mindfulness). These practices are designed to promote the smooth flow of qi (energy) throughout the body, remove blockages or imbalances, and enhance overall health and well-being.

The primary goals of our Mindful Movement practice include:

  1. Harmonizing Body and Mind: Qigong helps to synchronize and integrate the movements of the body with the breath and mental focus, fostering a sense of unity and harmony between body, mind, and spirit.
  2. Cultivating Vital Energy: Through specific movements, breathing techniques, and mindful intention, we cultivate and enhance the flow of qi within the body, promoting vitality, resilience, and longevity.
  3. Strengthening the Immune System: Regular qigong and Mindful Movement practice  strengthens the body’s immune system, improves circulation, enhances flexibility and balance, and reduces stress and tension, thereby supporting overall health and resilience.
  4. Promoting Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Integrating mindful techniques, including deep breathing and meditation, can induce a state of deep relaxation, reduce stress levels, and promote a sense of calm and inner peace.

Qigong is practiced for various purposes, including health and well-being, preventing illness, rehabilitation, spiritual development, and martial arts training. It is often described as a form of “moving meditation” because of its emphasis on mindfulness, presence, and awareness during practice.

At SanBaoWay, we focus primarily on the Baduanjin (Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade form). An accessible sequence of moves that have a profound and positive impact on our external and internal health.

These FREE training sessions are held every Saturday morning: 9.00-10.00am (UKT) until further notice.

Sessions are delivered LIVE and ONLINE via Zoom (link at bottom of page).

All you will need is:

  • loose clothing
  • space enough to stretch your arms to the front; side and back
  • some water at hand
  • an open mind and willingness to learn

Participants of SanBaoWay training are expected to be aware of their own physical limitations and health status. The exercises and techniques taught within the SanBaoWay training programme are NOT intended as a substitute for conventional medicine or medical intervention.

SanBaoWay training is ONLY open to those of 18yrs and over.

To ensure all participating in any of the SanBaoWay sessions get the most out of each session and the positive impact that the training offers – all participants agree to adhere to the following simple rules:

  1. No participant should join ANY session if under the influence of alcohol; recreational drugs or prescribed medication* (*where this may impact on their ability to perform the exercises presented).
  2. Participants must join the session on time and be ready to commence training at the session start time.
  3. SanBaoWay demands that all who participate are respectful of ALL others on the training sessions and will NOT tolerate any abuse or discrimination of ANY kind. Any participant who is clearly in breach of this will have their access to the session(s) denied with immediate effect.

Whatever time, commitment and effort participants put into training, there will be benefit. However, to truly transform your health and well-being and gain from the SanBaoWay training, there must be a willing to commit to the training sessions with a focus and to the best of your ability. Recommendations and additional resource materials will be provided for additional home training.
